I live on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I am a certified vet tech and dog trainer and I run my own dog training business New England K9 Athlete in Hanover, MA. I got into dog sports with my first dog, Sarafina and I instantly fell in love with Belgian malinois when I started to see them at dog sport competitions. They had everything I was looking for in my next sport dog: drive, power, biddability, athleticism. I was interested in getting into protection sports so they fit that perfectly. At the time I was dog walking outside of Boston and I could bring my dogs to work with me so it was equally important to me that I had not only a dog with lots of drive, but also a dog that was environmentally stable as well as social with people (as it was common for us to encounter people in the woods during pack walks at work). This brought me to Like A Hurricane Working Dogs in The Netherlands. I imported my first malinois shortly after, Like A Hurricane Miss Margaret “Aviva”. Aviva is an amazing dog and is the foundation bitch for my kennel Vos Van De Nacht Belgian Malinois. You can learn more about her here.
